Katherine Thekan LMT

Katherine Thekan has been helping people since she was born- she taught her younger brother to walk and talk and was always the family helper. When a friend or family member was experiencing a painful physical or emotional experience, they could always count on her to lend a listening ear- and a great shoulder and back rub!

After receiving her BS in Business with a concentration in Management she joined the US Peace Corps and spent nearly 3 years teaching English as a second language in a middle school/high school in Ukraine. It was an amazing experience and gave her a lot of time to think about what she wanted to do with her life. Upon returning home to the US, Katherine knew two things: she definitely did not want to be a high school teacher, and she was not ready to spend her days in a cubicle farm climbing the corporate ladder.

It wasn't long before she began to gravitate to the healing professions, and found herself assisting at a clinic of a natropathic physician in Colorado. She began to learn about healing modalities and was more and more drawn to massage, and decided to become professionally trained in massage therapy. She enrolled in the Cayce Riley School of Massotherapy in April 2010 and graduated in November 2010 and has loved every moment of her career since! To get some good experience in massage without all the business-end details, Katherine joined the Massage Luxe Team in early 2011 and has been there until recently.

Durring the last few years, Katherine has also taken courses in Prenatal Massage with Claire Marie Miller's Nurturing the Mother Certification (http://clairemariemiller.com/nurturing-the-mother), Secrets of Deep Tissue with Robert Haase who is an amazing person as well as a clinical therapist (http://haasemyotherapy.com/Haase_Myotherapy/Program.html), and a handful of smaller courses and hopes to take many more in the near future to further her learning.

Now, she is using her Business Degree, coupled with all her Massage Therapy training and experience, to start her own business. Katherine brings to the table passion, experience, and capability... You are in good hands!
